The North Bay Farmers' Market is returning for the 18th season this coming long weekend.

The market will continue to operate near the museum but due to the COVID-19 crisis, they are also going to be offering online service and pickup as well.

Director Donovan Daniel says only food vendors will be available and online orders can be made at shop.northbayfarmersmarket.com

"It's going to reduce the amount of time you spend at the market and eliminate the need to browse. You will be able to complete your purchase in a cashless manner," he told CKAT

He says there will be an easy pickup express system that's designed to get you in and out quickly.

"It is an express pickup it is designed so those who have purchased online get an easy pass to pick up their purchases," said Daniel.

Browsing is being allowed but there will be protocols, including clearly marked lanes.

"The market asks that only one person per family attends and we ask you to leave your pets at home," Daniel said.

He says there will be many items to choose from to start the season including asparagus and rhubarb.

"We will have bakers, you can shop for your pets, we will have dog food and greens too," he says.

Daniel says the syrup and honey producers will be on hand and there will be some online takeout orders as well.

The cutoff for Saturday pickup at the market by the Oak Street Transit Terminal is 11:59 pm Thursday.

Wednesday's market is also back in front of the North Bay Museum, beginning next week.

The online order cut-off for Wednesday's market is Monday at 11:59 p.m.
