'Exceptional' NU students receive Dave Marshall Leadership Awards

Nipissing University proudly recognized 25 exceptional students at the 2025 Dave Marshall Leadership Awards, held at the NUSU Student Centre. The annual awards celebrate students who have made significant contributions to the university and the broader community through their leadership, academic excellence, and commitment to service.

This award is a prestigious, non-monetary award in recognition of the dedication and leadership Dr. Dave Marshall demonstrated during his 18 years of consecutive service as the Dean of Education and President and Vice-Chancellor of Nipissing University. Dr. Marshall’s tenure at Nipissing University is a reflection of his commitment to higher education, vision for the future, and leadership in external community service.

“Nipissing University extends its congratulations to all honourees and thanks them for their leadership and contributions. Their dedication strengthens the university experience and fosters a culture of engagement and excellence,” said Dr. Kevin Wamsley, President and Vice-Chancellor of Nipissing University. “We are so proud of our students for their incredible accomplishments achieved during their time at NU.”

“The Dave Marshall Leadership Awards highlight the incredible impact our students have both on campus and beyond,” said Lindsay Sullivan, Assistant Vice President of Students (interim). “These recipients exemplify dedication, innovation, and a strong commitment to making a difference.”

Since its inception, the Dave Marshall Leadership Awards have recognized students who embody the values of engagement, integrity, and excellence. Awards are presented in three categories: Academic, Campus, and Community Leadership, acknowledging achievements in academics, student life, and community involvement.
