A new art exhibit opens today at Callander’s Alex Dufresne Gallery.
Titled “Everything Art,” the exhibit features artworks from members of the North Bay Art Association. Many of the artists will be present on opening day, at the reception held on Saturday, Jan. 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. During this time, you can also tour the museum for free and enjoy some light refreshments in the gallery.
Gallery curator Natasha Wiatr noted in a release, “Art is more than just a visual feast — it is a profound expression of humanity that transcends boundaries and connects us on a deeper level. Through exhibitions like 'Everything Art,' we celebrate the ability of art to foster community, spark dialogue, and enhance emotional well-being.”
The North Bay Art Association has been enhancing that well-being since 1937. Wiatr detailed, “They are a collective of passionate individuals dedicated to fostering creativity and artistic expression in the North Bay region.”
In those early days, the group was known as the Arts and Letter Club. In 1958, the name changed to the Nipissing Art Club, and members settled on the North Bay Art Association in 1966.
Expect all manner of styles and subjects in the exhibit, and note the show runs until Saturday, February 22nd. The gallery is located at 107 Lansdowne Street in Callander. It’s in the same building as the museum, and you can visit Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
