The North Bay skyline plays a prominent role in new marketing materials from the organization.

Thanks to her former role as the City of North Bay's film production logistics guru, Tanya Bedard has rightfully earned a reputation as a meticulous organizer who could still swing a plan for those last-minute emergencies that crop up.

Accustomed to working the behind the scenes, Bedard is now in the limelight in her new role as Tourism North Bay's executive director, and she is going with what's worked by seeking to set the organization's direction with a plan for all.

Tourism North Bay is excited to announce the launch of a new events calendar. This new asset highlights activities and events happening in and around North Bay and can be found by visiting tourismnorthbay.com.

“We are thrilled to be launching this new calendar which will facilitate the connection between tourists visiting the city and the unique businesses, attractions and experiences that we have to offer,” says Bedard.

To ensure the calendar remains up to date, Tourism North Bay is calling on all event-hosting organizations, special interest groups and individuals to add their events for free.

Bedard explains, "Just go to tourismnorthbay.com, click on the events calendar, then click on 'add you event.' You will create your profile, fill out the form, and we will activate it. Tourism North Bay is, of course, available to answer any questions or concerns at any time."

The calendar can be sorted by date, category, organizer or venue, making it the one-stop platform for visitors.  Whether making plans for the long weekend or the summer days ahead, this new listing tool will make it easier to navigate events and experiences and help tourists discover what North Bay has to offer.

“This is a powerful marketing tool for event hosts in our community,” Bedard shares. “This also gives the team at Tourism North Bay the opportunity to promote these events and activities to a wider audience who may be interested in visiting.” Tourism North Bay is also actively promoting the city through social media, blogs, and video content that is all driving traffic to the website, and, the events calendar.

Area administrators that have already put the events calendar to good use include The City of North Bay, The Capitol Centre, North Bay Museum, North Bay Battalion, Downtown North Bay & Waterfront, North Bay Public Library, North Bay Farmers Market, Gateway to the Arts Co-Op, 250 Clark, Nipissing First Nation, North Bay Indigenous Friends Centre, North Bay Curling, Creative Industries, YMCA North Bay and Laurentian Ski Hill.
