Eugene Road Bridge in Verner closing for construction

Works begins on West Nipissing bridge on Monday, September 9th, with no traffic allowed to pass

If you travel across the bridge spanning Riberdy Creek on Eugene Road in West Nipissing, prepare an alternate route. The bridge is undergoing construction on September 9th and will be closed to all traffic until October 2nd.

Local Verner traffic at Highway 64 and at Rainville Road will have access to Eugene Road, the municipality clarified, but no traffic will cross the bridge. The road will be completely closed near the road work.

Ed Seguin and Sons are doing the bridge work at a cost of $649,412. The original bridge is being removed, new cribs will be installed, and a new bridge will be installed. The bridge is prefabricated, and the engineering plans, drawn by Planmac Engineering in Mississauga, noted it will be either a Lessard Welding bridge or a similar model.
