DSSAB to host housing forum

The District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board (DNSSAB) is pleased to host “Housing in Nipissing Communities: Building the Foundations” forum.

A large number of Nipissing’s citizens are negatively impacted by the current Housing situation. The DNSSAB has recently completed a review of the District’s Housing Needs. It is time to share the findings of the Housing Review and to engage Nipissing’s key stakeholders in the development of a plan that will mobilize our communities.

This forum will be of interest to community leaders, stakeholders, municipal planners, builders/developers, employers, health providers, organizations serving families, children, students, disabled, homeless, seniors – everyone who is impacted directly or indirectly by the current housing situation in Nipissing District. Over one hundred participants from around the District are expected to participate in the forum.

This forum focuses on the Housing Needs and Gaps that have been identified in communities in the Nipissing District. The forum will provide you with the latest data, and presentations from experts on advanced Housing Solutions. The conference aims to:

- Create a common understanding of housing needs and gaps in the Nipissing District
- Present a collection of best practices (effective responses) that address the Housing challenges
- Develop a compendium of strategies for Nipissing District communities
- Identify the partnerships/networks that will contribute to the implementation of solutions
- Identify a process to produce a collaborative plan to address Nipissing District Housing Needs
