Don't snooze and lose. Mattress recycling tomorrow

In 2016, an FLL Lego Robotics all girls team proposed a mattress recycling bylaw to North Bay City Councillors to eliminate mattresses being put into the local landfill.

A mattress recyling plan designed by students is proving to be a big success, and they'll look to build on it tomorrow.

You can recycle your old mattress at the North Bay Public Works Yard Seymour Street Entrance (across from the Holiday Inn Express & Suites) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow.  Recycle any size of mattress or box spring for $20/piece (cash, credit and debit accepted).  This offer is only available to residential users – no commercial users accepted.

The project was implemented in 2017 and to date over 3,700 mattresses have been saved from the landfill and been shipped to a mattress recycling facility in Barrie.
