The Dionne Quints Heritage Board is hosting “Dionne Quints Week” beginning today with an event celebrating 89 years since the birth of the Dionne Quintuplets.

Birthday cake will be served after the proclamation from Mayor Peter Chirico for Dionne Quints Week at 11 a.m. on the grounds of the Museum.

The museum will be open from 10 – 4.

The event continues with the Museum open all week (till Saturday) from 10 – 4 pm and culminating with “Five-the-Dionnes – the Musical” on Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3 at the Capitol Centre.

Tickets can be purchased at the Capitol Centre for $30.

The musical – an idea developed by North Bay alumni actor Gerry Mendicino – is an enhanced version of the successful play’s debut last June.

It will include a greater awareness and input of the Dionne family and how it affected them. Cooperating restaurants – Lou Dawg’s, Moose’s Cookhouse, Cecil’s and the Block Public House – are offering a $30 meal special with a presentation of a ticket to the musical.

The Museum has begun its new tour season and will continue each weekend (on Friday & Saturday 10 am – 4 pm) until the fall. Admission is free.
