Dense fog is forecast to persist into this morning before dissipating later today.

Visibility may be significantly, and suddenly reduced to near zero. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility.

Fog advisory issued for:

  • North Bay - Powassan - Mattawa
  • South River - Burk's Falls
  • Huntsville
  • Parry Sound
  • Bracebridge - Gravenhurst

If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.

In addition, there is a snow squall warning for:

  • Huntsville
  • Parry Sound
  • Bracebridge

Snow squalls are expected to develop and under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.

Snow squalls are possible tonight into Thursday morning.

Locally heavy snowfall with accumulations of 10 to 15 cm. Peak snowfall rates of 3 to 6 cm per hour. Very poor visibility at times in heavy snow and blowing snow tonight into Thursday morning.

Lake effect snow squalls off Georgian Bay may move northward into the area tonight. Strong westerly winds gusting up to 50 km/h will accompany any snow squalls resulting in widespread blowing snow and significantly reduced visibility at times.
