Residents in the Sherryl Crescent neighbourhood in the Northwest end of the city, are being very wary when they let their pets out at night.

That’s because earlier this week one resident found a small dead deer torn apart right inside her own backyard fence located on the North end of the city near the escarpment.

The warning comes from “Buster’s Page - Helping North Bay pets get home,” Facebook page which reports missing and found animals in the city.

Tracey Truchon, operates the Facebook page and she says even in early February there were reports that a small dog was snatched by a coyote off Sable in the Northeast end of the city in Birchaven.

“Anyone living in the Sheryl Crescent area please keep an eye on your pets,” noted Truchon in her warning.

“A deer was killed in someone’s backyard a couple of nights ago. It was an animal on animal attack No human involvement. Without going into gruesome details just please watch your pets.”

BayToday has contacted the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry about the situation but they did not reply by our publication deadline.
