An outbreak at a local church back in June has now been considered over.

Back on June 29, the Health Unit reported five individuals had tested positive for COVID-19.

"As of today we are declaring the outbreak at the Faith Christian Chapel over, as more than 14 days have passed with now new cases associated with this outbreak," said Louise Gagné, Director of Community Services with the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit.

Pastor Maurice MacMillan would like to thank all the members of Faith Chapel for being pro-active with early testing and self-isolation.

"The decision to suspend in-person services immediately by our board of directors was also instrumental in stopping any further transmission," stated Pastor MacMillan in an email to BayToday.

"We would also thank the health unit for coming alongside to assist in our contact tracing follow-up."

Pastor MacMillan’s intention is to open up our services this Sunday, and as always will ensure all guidelines and protocols will be followed.
