The family has a four year old and an infant. No injuries were reported.

"The Red Cross is working with them to help. They did not have insurance," Deputy Chief Greg Saunders told BayToday.

Can you help? A gofundme page  called Young North Bay Famiy in Need has been set up to assist the family. The goal is $5,000 with $125 raised by 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

"It hasn't been confirmed yet but we're leaning towards the cause being electrical."

The blaze, which started around 10 a.m. involved three stations and 16 firefighters.

"It was a significant fire event," explained Saunders. "The guys got in there, and seriously, it was done as well as it could be done. I was very proud."

Damage has been estimated at $75,000.

The fire closed Main St. at John for most of the day.
