The Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord (CSCFN) proudly welcomed the newly elected trustees during the inaugural ceremony and meeting, where a new Chair and Vice-Chair were elected on Wednesday night.

Approximately 20 people, including administration staff, school principals and guests, were present for this evening of welcome which began with a religious ceremony of engagement. Monsignor Norm Clément presided the ceremony and with the help of the crowd, blessed the trustees to being this new four year term.

During the inaugural meeting which followed the ceremony, all trustees were sworn in and signed their declaration before the Honorable Justice Alain Perron and the crowd. Mrs. Monique Ménard, Director of Education and Secretary-Treasurer of the CSCFN, then proceeded with nominations for the position of Chair.

Diane Corriveau, trustee since 2004 and Vice-Chair since 2011, was acclaimed as Chair.

“I would like to sincerely thank each and every one of you for your trust. I will continue to work ardently for our cause and our students. My door is always open,” she said in a release.

Corriveau then proceeded with nominations for the position of Vice-Chair.

Mr. Roland Rochon, trustee since 1991, was acclaimed as Vice-Chair.

“There are a few key words in my life: Catholic faith and French language and culture. These important words will continue to guide me in my new position,” said Mr. Rochon.

Mrs. Monique Ménard then offered an orientation session for the new Board of Trustees and presented the values, strategies and vision of the CSCFN. She was proud to welcome each newly elected member.

“Whether you are new or whether you have experience, together we will continue to learn and evolve for the well-being of our students,” says Mrs. Ménard.

“I am confident that this will be a great new group. We can already sense a positive dynamic and a sincere interest. I congratulate and thank each and every one of the trustees for their willingness to get involved, their time and their devotion to ensure the success of our students and our French-language Catholic system.”
