Collision on Algonquin Avenue takes down traffic pole

The accident took place shortly after 9:30 a.m.

A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Algonquin Avenue and Shirreff Avenue, in front of the North Bay Centre strip mall, damaged a traffic light post, causing it to come to rest lying flat on the road near the entrance of the mall near Harvey's. 

The accident took place shortly after 9:30 a.m. Monday on the north end of the city. 

Traffic on the southbound lanes was partially closed on Algonquin Avenue in front of the strip mall which includes Sobey's, was limited as crews tried to clean up the debris and damaged pole off the road.

No word on any injuries.  

Around 10:15 a.m., the two vehicles involved, which had significant damage, were being loaded onto flatbeds.  

North Bay fire crews and the Ontario Provincial Police were in attendance. No word if any charges are pending.
