The roster of live entertainment is expanding for the City of North Bay's Civic long weekend celebration.
The 2022 Hot Summer Night Music Festival, originally slated for Saturday, July 30, will now include a Friday night performance on July 29 by local favourites Gravitas. Due to inclement weather this past week, Gravitas had one Summer Concert Series show postponed and another cancelled but will take the stage on the upcoming long weekend.
Additionally, the fireworks display that was pushed back from Canada Day due to high winds has been added to the lineup and will follow the Saturday performances.
This new event will feature hours of entertainment at the Kiwanis bandshell on North Bay's waterfront.
Headlining the Saturday show is the Jesse Thomas Band with special guest Jake Thomas. The Jesse Thomas Band is billed as a tight, funky four-piece cover band from North Bay, that dabbles in Rock 'n' Roll, R&B and Funk. Jesse's father, Jake, is a renowned blues musician in the local music scene and beyond.
Admission is free. Parking is free. Bring your lawn chair.
Gravitas will play from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, July 29. The schedule for Saturday, July 30, is:
- 2 p.m.–3:30 p.m. Ali Steer
- 4 p.m.–5:30 p.m. Mustang 3.0
- 6 p.m.–7:30 p.m. Broken Down Lori
- 8 p.m.–9:30 p.m. The Jesse Thomas Band with special guest Jake Thomas
Organizers advise this event is weather dependent. Sunday, July 31, is the alternate date in event of inclement weather. Stay tuned to social media for information related to weather cancellation. The schedule is subject to change.
