City snow crews spring into action

Boutiilier was especially concerned about the issue of parking in a handicapped zone outside the church

It didn't take long for the City to swing into action after a parishioner at the Pro Cathedral complained that a lack of snow clearing was making it hard to attend church.

Daley Boutilier wrote a letter to BayToday saying "I have mobility issues dealing with Multiple Sclerosis, and I attend the Church on a regular basis. I can tell you the majority attending are seniors. Please keep our streets and sidewalks clear."

Boutiilier was especially concerned about the issue of parking in a handicapped zone outside the church. "It was evident it was unclear, especially for disabled and seniors that attend daily masses."

Early this morning City crews arrived with plows and trucks to clear the troublesome white stuff. (See photos above)

Despite a mild winter so far, snowfall i above average for this time of year.

We are in for more snow today.

Snow that began this morning will end later this afternoon but will dump up to 5 cm. There is a 60 per cent chance of flurries or rain showers later this afternoon and a risk of freezing drizzle early this afternoon.
