City construction permits up sharply

Building permit numbers remain strong, up 85 percent over the same time period as last year.

The City is at a construction value total of $26,600,000 compared to $14,400,000 last year at this time.

Single family dwellings have increased to 12 versus 7 last year at this time. 

“There are more potential projects to come forward which sets the stage for further development throughout the year,” stated Mayor Al McDonald.

Ground preparation has started by Jim Kolios for a 30 unit, $2.5 million apartment building at the corner of Lakeshore Drive and Marshall. It is a combination of geared to income and market rent units.

It joins the new $3 million Subaru dealership on Mckeown, as part of an impressive start to the construction year.
