The Kiwanis Citizen of the Year dinner has been postponed and will be re-scheduled in the fall; likely late October.
The original dinner was scheduled for May 28.
"Given the unprecedented conditions around COVID-19 in our community, and out of an abundance of caution, this year’s Citizen of the Year dinner will be postponed until the Fall," stated local Kiwanis President Caleb O'Connor in a release.
"We have been fortunate to have received a number of outstanding nominations already and nominations will remain open until a new date is confirmed. Please follow us at kiwanisnipissing.com. for details.”
This will be the 36th year of honouring a local individual or group, for work they have done in the community, either in the past year or cumulatively over a number of years.
Last year, pharmacist Brian Chute was named the citizen of the year. Other recent recipients include Sharon Fung, David Washington, John Richardson, and Tom Hedican.
