With representatives from local school boards, post-secondary partners, Indigenous groups, cultural and creative organizations, local businesses, and individuals, the volunteer committee will be working hard over the next several months to solidify plans for various events and initiatives as part of a year-long celebration to mark North Bay’s centennial.
This includes extending an open invitation to local groups and organizations, encouraging them to actively participate by incorporating a centennial theme into their own events and activities, projects, and initiatives.
"This is a milestone anniversary for North Bay, and we want the entire community to come together in celebration,” said committee Chair Mayor Peter Chirico. “We're not just marking a century; we're commemorating our history and our progress as a community.”
The committee will be emphasizing the importance of community involvement as planning moves ahead. Groups and organizations planning events in 2025 are encouraged to reach out to explore opportunities for collaboration with Erin Vaughan, community event facilitator, at [email protected], or (705) 474-0626 x.2312.
