Canadore College’s board of directors want to keep George Burton around for a while longer.
The North Bay college announced they’re keeping him in the president’s chair in North Bay for five more years.
“We are very fortunate to have George at the helm of Canadore,” said board chair William Ferguson in a Sep. 24 news release“He’s done an excellent job in keeping Canadore at the cutting edge of postsecondary education. Student enrolment has increased, programs have been modified to meet employer needs, new technologies have been adopted and innovative approaches have all been implemented under George’s leadership.”
He points to milestone accomplishments made with the Integrated Media Centre, ICAMP and the aviation campus expansion that have been “transformational” for the area.
“George’s dedication and commitment to success is a driving force and a prime motivator for all who work with him,” he added.
Burton first became Canadore President back in May of 2010.
