Canadian Curling Star to talk Sports Tourism at local golf tourney

A well-known curling celebrity will be coming to North Bay for some golf and to talk some Grand Slam Curling. 

Kevin Martin,  a 15x Grand Slam Champion, 4x Canadian Champion, World Champion, 3x Olympian, World Curling Hall of Fame member, and recently named greatest Canadian male curler of all time (by TSN) will be in attendance at the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament at Osprey Links Thursday to promote another major sports tourism event coming this fall.

The Edmonton native has played an instrumental role in developing the Grand Slam of Curling circuit, beginning as far back as the late 1990s.

Martin now acts as a broadcast analyst for the series of events owned by Sportsnet.

North Bay hosts the Canadian Beef Masters October 22-27, 2019 at Memorial Gardens. 

The event will bring in some of the top men’s and women’s curlers including the likes of Jennifer Jones and Sault Ste. Marie’s Brad Jacobs.
