Callander's new park

The residents of Callander held a special ceremony tonight as the Veterans walkway was officially dedicated as Veterans Ridge in honour of past, present and future military personnel.

Karen Brazeau, who petitioned council to erect a memorial to commemorate the Year of the Veteran, says the park is beyond what she could have imagined. Brazeau says the dedication of the previous council, current council, school and donors made her dream a reality.

“It’s just beautiful it’s something that will honour them hopefully forever,” she says.

“It looks fabulous, well worth the wait and I was honoured to be invited.”
