The area's best fireworks display took centre stage in Callander last night. Photos by Jeff Turl.
There were squeals of delight from the kids, and ooh's and ah's from the adults as once again Callander put on a spectacular fireworks display Saturday night.
The town, and its volunteer fire department has a reputation of putting on a first-class show and they didn;t disappoint.
The downtown was packed with eager spectators lining the Main St. and packing Centennial Park for the event.
The Parade of Lights preceeded the fireworks at about 10 p.m.
A North Bay police car and Callander fire truck, both with lights flashing, led the parade while another five floats followed.
If you look closely in this one you'll find Callander mayor Hec Lavigne.
The 20 minute fireworks show was non-stop, and after the finale the firefighters took a bow to the cheers of the big crowd.
The weather couldn't have co-operated more. No wind and comfortably warm temperatures --- more importantly, no rain.
There were daytime and evening activities, and an artisan market in Centennial Park.
Congratulations Callander, job well done.
