For the first time in history, there is a tie for the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year.
The award for the business with 16 or more employees goes to Caisse Alliance and Voyageur Aviation.
Caisse Alliance is a financial services company while Voyageur is in the business os airline operations; aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul; aircraft part sales and logistics management; and aircraft leasing.
The businesses were highlighted at the Bell Evening of Excellence Awards. held this evening at The Grande Event Centre.

- Small Business of the Year (1-5 employees): Dupuis Properties
- Small Business of the Year (6-15 employees): MetricAid
- Young Professional: Ryan Drouin
The Chamber presented the annual Betty Alcorn Memorial Award for the director of the year to Rebecca McGlynn. This award is presented annually, to the director voted by the board, as having best-exemplified dedication and diligence during the current year.
Chair Charles Elliott stated, “Business week isn’t only about supporting the local businesses, it’s a time to celebrate and encourage business successes. Behind every business in our region, there is a story worth knowing; we just wish we could celebrate all the nominees with awards, each and every day throughout the year. Small business (less than 100 employees) is an integral part of the economy as it makes up 98 per cent of all businesses in Canada.”
