Butler to be recognized by Special Olympics Ontario

Stan Butler is being recognized for this contribution to Special Olympics.   

Butler, the head coach and director of hockey operations with the North Bay Battalion, is one of 50 Ontarians to be recognized in one of four categories in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Special Olympics.  

He has been recognized in the “Star” category as an individual who believes in dedication, commitment, trust, philanthropy and whose contributions have made a lasting impact on Special Olympics.  

Butler is passionate about Special Olympics and was named the Special Olympics Ontario Honourary Coach during the 2015 Special Olympics Ontario Provincial Winter Games held in North Bay in 2015.  

On top of that, his daughter Sara, became an established Special Olympic athlete competing in hockey, figure skating, rowing and baseball

Butler will be honoured at an event that will be held in Toronto on June 26.
