Sean McClocklin, on behalf of Burger King North Bay, presents a donation of $500 to Katie Valiquette of H.O.P.E.'s Kitchen. Submitted.

Every donation helps at this time of year — especially when it comes to our vulnerable population — and the staff and management at Burger King are doing their part to help out another group who do their share of helping.

The Burger King staff raised $205 in tips and, from one food establishment to another, will donate the money to local charity H.O.P.E.'s (Helping Our People Eat) Kitchen, a community-focused business looking to ease food insecurity and offer shelter for those in need.

On top of the staff's generous gesture, the franchise owner contributed $295 to make it an even $500.

General manager Trevor Holliday was proud to share the good news about the staff's gesture, adding a thankful Katie Valiquette of H.O.P.E.'s Kitchen came by to pick up the donation earlier this week.

H.O.P.E.'s Kitchen recently moved operations to Cassells Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues where owners Valiquette and Chris Brown and a team of volunteers continue their important work.
