Brazeau making NHL debut today

On Sunday, the Bruins announced they signed the New Liskeard product to a two-year, two-way contract.

Former North Bay Battalion star Justin Brazeau is making his NHL debut today for the Boston Bruins as they host the Dallas Stars. 

On Sunday, the Bruins announced they signed the New Liskeard product to a two-year, two-way contract. The contract will carry through the end of the 2024-25 season, with a cap hit of $775,000. 

His parents, Greg and Heather Brazeau were flying in to Boston today to catch the memorable game in Boston. 

A 13th-round pick of the Battalion in 2014, Brazeau had a franchise record 61 goals and 52 assists in 68 games in his final season with the Troops in 2018-19.

That year he finished four points behind Stars forward Jason Robertson,of the Niagara IceDogs for the OHL scoring title.

Through 49 games this season with the Providence Bruins, the 6’5” forward has 18 goals and 19 assists for 37 points. 

Brazeau, who also played for the Powassan Voodoos in their inaugural season in 2014-15, becomes the first player to wear a Voodoos jersey to play an NHL game.
