The St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Bears are back as NDA Senior Football champions as they edged the Algonquin Barons 26-23 at Cundari Field on Friday night.

The win finishes off a perfect 5-0 regular season and playoff record this fall in the three-team league.

The Barons punched their ticket to the final courtesy of a convincing 22-0 win over the West Ferris Trojans in the semifinals last weekend.

It was a rematch of the 2022 final where the Barons defeated the Bears 36-11 at the Mike O'Shea Field last November.

The Bears' victory halts the Barons championship run at 2 years as Algonquin captured the title in 2021 and in 2022.

The Bears, who are celebrating with the Hector Valade Memorial Trophy as NDA Senior Football champs, will move on to NOSSA which takes place next weekend.
