Two of North Bay's news leaders, BayToday.ca and Country 600 CKAT are combining forces to bring you complete and timely election coverage tonight as soon as polls close at 8 p.m.

We'll be headquartered at City Hall where candidates traditionally gather, win or lose, election night.

You can get real-time election results, analysis and interviews with candidates at home, on your mobile device or on the radio all evening until winners are decided.

Bob Coles, Matt Sookram, and Jeff Turl will anchor the main desk at City Hall, while Mitch Belanger, Vicki Tyler, Chris Dawson, and Linda Holmes will act as roving reporters in the lobby and council chambers. CKAT News Director Richard Coffin and announcer Bryan Floyd will update social media platforms KiSS100.5 and 101.9 Rock.

You can also check BayToday.ca for up to the minute results for Callander, East Ferris, Mattawa, Powassan, Bonfield and West Nipissing.

Four candidates are running for the mayor's chair, with 26 running for council, including eight incumbents. Twenty-six is the largest number of councillor candidates since 1971 which saw 35.

Advance polls saw a heavy turnout, usually a signal that voters want change. Numbers were up 15 per cent over 2014 with 3,010 people voting in the seven advance polling days.

The highest advance poll turnout, dating back to 1978, was in 2006 when 3,137 votes were cast early.

City officials expect results to be wrapped up by 9:30 p.m.
