The North Bay Battalion needed overtime as Brandon Coe netted an impressive game-winner to give the Troops a 3-2 win at the Sadlon Arena in Barrie Saturday night.

Joe Vrbetic had a great game making a couple of key stops just before the Battalion responded with a goal as the Montreal Canadiens prospect stopped 35 shots in the win.

After the Battalion were buzzing in the Colts zone, Matvey Petrov was able to rip a shot past the Colts netminder Matteo Lalama on a nice pass from Liam Arnsby for his 21st of the campaign to open the scoring for the Troops.

The Colts get the equalizer early in the third when Hunter Haight quick shot beats Joe Vrbetic short side which made it 1-1.

The Colts took their first lead of the game on the power play as the Colts Cooper Matthew's one-timed a shot past Joe Vrbetic late in the second period.

Vrbetic kept it a one goal game as he stopped Ethan Cardwell on a breakaway with a nice glove save in the last minute of the second frame.

That save was a key as moments later newcomer Kyle McDonald wheels into the middle of the ice from the corner and ripped a wrist shot past Lalama for his 18th of the season to even the score at 2-2 after two.

It stayed that way in the third period as both exchanged some good chances but could not cash in before the end of regulation.

In extra time again Joe Vrbetic came up big on a great rush in overtime by Brandt Clarke as he went around the Battalion defender and cut to the net where Vrbetic extended his right leg to thwart the Colts opportunity.

Not long after that Avery Winslow sprung Brandon Coe down the right side where he faked the shot on Lalama and made a nifty wraparound fooling the Colts netminder and giving the Battalion the overtime winner and their second straight win.
