The North Bay Battalion will be wearing some purple today alongside their prominent army green.
The players were sporting purple #JBOStrong ribbons today before departing on the bus to Niagara for their game against the IceDogs.
The ribbons symbolize support for former trainer James Borrelli, who was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of Leukemia.
Borrelli worked as the North Bay Battalion head trainer from 2013 to 2017 and moved on in the summer of 2017 to the Calgary Flames affiliate team in Stockton, California before moving up to take on the assistant athletic therapist position with the Flames in Calgary.
"Former Battalion head athletic therapist and current @NHLFlames assistant trainer, James Borrelli was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Leukemia and is currently undergoing treatment," the Battalion stated via social media.
"Our entire team is wearing #JBoStrong ribbons in support."

In recognition of Borrelli's battle, Flames players and staff have began wearing special stickers and ribbons as a show of support for an important member of their family.
"James is a big part of our Flames family and we stand shoulder to shoulder with him in his fight," said General Manager Brad Treliving in a Flames release.
"We know James is going to beat this and we ask the entire C of Red to keep him in your thoughts and prayers."
