The North Bay Battalion continue to make moves prior to Wednesday's trade deadline.

Tonight the Battalion announced they are acquiring 6'6" defender Bronson Ride from the Niagara IceDogs for goaltender Charlie Robertson and multiple picks inlcuding a 2026 third rounder, a 2027 third rounder, a 2026 fourth rounder, a 2027 fourth rounder, and a 2024 ninth they previously acquired from Saginaw.

Ride was the Windsor Spitfires second round pick, 20th overall back in 2021 and has been compared to Winnipeg Jets defenceman Logan Stanley.

Ride has two goals and seven assists for nine points with 38 penalty minutes in 35 games this season. In 143 OHL games with Windsor and Niagara, he has seven goals, 25 assists, 32 points and 125 penalty minutes.

“We’re very happy to be able to add Bronson Ride to our program today,” said general manager Adam Dennis in a release.

“He solidifies our defence and will be a very important member of our team down the stretch and into the playoffs. He’s an imposing D who plays against other teams’ top players and is very difficult to play against.”

In the Troops move, they move out Robertson, who was a 7th round selection by the Troops in the 2021 OHL priority selection.

The trade comes about 24 hours after the Battalion acquired three players including Florida Panthers prospect Sandis Vilmanis, and the LeBlanc twins.
