Barons dump Bears in NDA Senior Football opener

Barons quarterback Dayne Meyer threw five touchdown passes as the Algonquin Barons cruised past the St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Bears 42-19 in the NDA Senior Football opener at Steve Omischl Sports Complex on Friday night to open the season. 

Mathieu Desbiens hauled in three touchdown receptions and had two interceptions including one returned for a touchdown. 

Luke Braceland contributed a touchdown reception and four successful point after attempts. 

Jacob McGill, Sam Pannell and Wesley Strength-Dupuis sack each. 

Peter Faraci, Justin Marietti and Brayden Morrisette had touchdowns for the Bears. 

The NDA Senior Football schedule resumes next Friday, September 20 when the St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Bears travel to West Ferris Secondary to face the Trojans.  Kick off is set for 1 p.m.
