Bagpipe and drum trio warm up spirits on a chilly weekend

The trio includes Rob Sanders, George Winters and Lisa Hurtubise- all are members of the North Bay Pipe and Drum Band.

Despite temperatures that hovered around the freezing mark, and a wind chill below zero North Bay's COVID-19 Pipe Band Trio was out entertaining North Bay residents this weekend.

They entertain nightly at different areas around town, but weekend gigs keep them most busy with up to six performances a day.

The trio includes Rob Sanders, George Winters and Lisa Hurtubise- all are members of the North Bay Pipe and Drum Band.

“Everybody is getting kind of depressed being in the house, not really able to go out and do what they used to do,” said Sanders.

“This way we can get them out at the end of their driveway. Some of them haven’t seen their neighbours in a very long time.  They get out and they can shout out across the yard ‘Hey how are you doing.’ It is nice to see each other again.”

We thought you could use a break in your day for a little music. This performance was Saturday evening at the corner of Lakeshore and Premier.
