A disturbing report of a spousal assault has come out of the Temiskaming area.
On December 15 Temiskaming OPP officers and the OPP Crime Unit started an investigation into sexual assaults in the Township of Coleman, near Cobalt.
Police believe the incidents occurred between January and December of this year.
A 33-year-old resident of Coleman Township has been arrested and is charged with:
- Overcome resistance by attempting to choke, suffocate or strangle another person
- Assault with a weapon
- Sexual assault
- Assault - Spousal
- Sexual assault cause bodily harm
- Assault causing bodily harm - spousal
The OPP say they will not be releasing the name of the accused in order to protect the identity of the victim.
