Astorville's Briir Long made his OHL debut tonight for the Brantford Bulldogs in Windsor today as they faced the Spitfires.
In late December Brantford Bulldogs announced the signing of Long, a 10th round selection, 189th overall, in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection Draft,
"It’s a great feeling that such a good organization has belief in me and I’m really excited to get started," Long told BayToday after the signing shortly after Christmas.

Long, who got in a rookie lap to start warm-ups, wore #10 as the Brantford Bulldogs dumped the Windsor Spitfires 5-1 Saturday afternoon.
The skilled forward has posted an impressive 27 goals along with 21 assists for 48 points in 35 games in his first-year of junior eligibility. Long plays alongside his older brother and Battalion draft pick Kaedyn Long and North Bay product Owen Ethier in St. Thomas of the GOJHL.
“To do what Briir has already done as a 16-year old in a very, very good league (GOJHL) gives a glimpse at his tremendous potential. We are excited to add Briir’s skill set and character to our group moving forward,” said Matt Turek, Bulldogs GM relating to the signing.
Long is the fourth North Bay area product to get into an OHL game this season along with Connor Punnett of the Generals, Masen Wray of the Ice Dogs, and Ben Gaudreau of the Otters.
