Arrest Made In Hit And Run

On the 24th of Sept at approximately 3 AM Cst. Tom Robertson of the North Bay Police Service received a call to attend a fail to remain collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. As the officer was making his way to the scene he saw a vehicle travelling without the headlights on, coming from the general direction of the alleged incident.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver arrested. The 45-year-old male pedestrian was transferred to the North Bay General Hospital for treatment.

David SCHMELER 20 years old of Ontario St. in Burks Falls is charged with Fail to Stop, Breach of an Undertaking and Assault Bodily Harm. He was kept in custody for a bail hearing.
