There has now been a third report of Halloween candy being tampered with and in a completely different part of the city. Photo by Travis Everitt.
Travis Everitt lives in the Ferris area and told BayToday that he turned in a Snickers chocolate bar to police this morning that contained a razor blade, similar to a pencil sharpener blade.
Everitt says his daughter was trick or treating the Prince Edward Drive, Massey Drive and Thelma Street area of the city and also went to the fire station.
"My daughter opened it and found the razor blade," said Everitt.
"She was pretty upset and crying."
However, the family was alerted by a little hole on the side of the wrapper.
It's just the latest in what is now a string of Halloween candy incidents.
At approximately 9 o'clock Wednesday evening a woman called police regarding a chocolate bar collected on Aberdeen Street.
Also, at approximately 7 o'clock Wednesday evening, a complainant contacted police regarding a chocolate bar collected by a child on Halloween night.
After opening it, in what appeared to be a properly sealed package, the child discovered that it had a slit on its side and it was covered in a white powder.
The parent reports that the child went trick-or-treating on Wickstead Avenue, Sylvan Crescent, Michener Drive, Glen Rouge Drive, Madelena Drive, Ferguson Street, Victoria Street and Princess Street.
