The North Bay Police Service is currently investigating a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision that took place at 9:10 a.m. this morning at Champlain and McKeown.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Constable Elizabeth Bell, of the North Bay Police Service by telephone at 705-497-5555 or in person at 135 Princess Street West.

Troubled accident area

This mornings accident occurred a week to the day that the North Bay Police conducted a Speed Trap on the busy roadway.

On December 10th, the police were targeting that area due to a pair of pedestrian accidents - including one fatality - that occurred in the area in late November and early December.

“It’s a high volume area. There is a lot of commercial property here now and despite there being a set of traffic lights which I consider to be functioning, the road condition is good, and so on, but we are still getting pedestrian related collisions and I don’t understand it," stated Constable Ken Ayres last week about the new problem area.
