The North Bay Parry Sound District set another grim record today, with 28 new cases and a historically high 90 active cases.
There have been 1,073 cases locally since the pandemic began, with 975 resolved.
Nipissing makes up the bulk of new cases with 22. Parry Sound recorded six. No one is currently hospitalized.
Also, at least two cases have been reported at Scollard Hall and one each at Chippewa and West Ferris.
Due to what the Health Unit is calling, "the incredible uptake of COVID-19 third doses," Memorial Gardens will again be home to mass vaccination clinics.
Health Care Providers from the North Bay Regional Health Centre will also be on hand to help support vaccinations.

- Tuesday Dec. 28: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Wednesday Dec. 29: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

And the local medical officer of health is advising against heading south for the holidays.
"You really have to do an individual risk assessment and figure out your own risks," Dr. Jim Chirico said during the most recent North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit press conference.
"Personally, I would not be travelling internationally and I would recommend that you don't do it," Chirico added.

The Timiskaming Health Unit has 66 active cases. Temagami Public School has declared an outbreak with two students infected.
Sudbury reports 55 new cases and 295 active cases.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is reporting 197 new COVID-19 cases in its latest update published Dec. 22.
This is the largest increase in cases reported by the health unit in a single day, and the last seven days have also brought a record number of cases with 852 new cases reported during the week of Dec. 12, and this week is tracking to exceed that amount. Nineteen per cent of those cases were children under 12 years old.
Provincewide, Public Health Ontario is reporting 4,383 new COVID cases today.
The latest updates also include 1,787 recoveries and nine deaths.
