Former Battalion sniper Mike Amadio is on the move to Las Vegas.

On Saturday, the Vegas Golden Knights announced that they had claimed Amadio off waivers.

The Leafs, who signed him as a free agent this off-season, put him on waivers last week.

Amadio has appeared in a total of 176 NHL games with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators and Los Angeles Kings.

The Sault Ste. Marie product is hoping this is a good opportunity for him to go to a team that has key forwards Mark Stone, Max Pacioretty and Alex Tuch out with injuries.

Battalion alum Mason Primeau is with the Golden Knights AHL affiliate in Henderson, Nevada where he has one assist in five games.

Amadio played in a career-high 68 games with the Kings during the 2019-20 campaign and collected 16 points (6 G, 10 A).

He was selected by Los Angeles in the third round (90th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft after spending four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with North Bay Battalion.
