All outdoor rinks including Lee Park skating oval now open

City of North Bay crews were successful in getting all the outdoor rinks up and running except for the Lee Park skating trails — they will need some more work before opening

The City of North Bay promised its crews would be out over the weekend working on getting our outdoor rinks up and running and their dedication and favourable weather conditions have allowed all outdoor ice rinks to open.

The Lee Park skating oval is now open, as a crew put the finishing touches on the skating surface early Monday afternoon. The Lee Park skating trails, however, will need some more work but the hope is with more good weather, the trails can be flooded and opened soon. Once ready, the skating trail lights will operate daily from dawn until 10 p.m. Heated washrooms at Lee Park will also be available daily for skaters and trail users between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m.
