The Management and Board of Directors of ACNBA announced the ratification this afternoon by both parties of a new contract with CUPE and its Local 4720-04.
The Local represents one part time and 11 full-time employees, who work in North Bay and other communities between Parry Sound and Timmins.
"The parties have worked hard over the past year to arrive at this agreement. We thank everyone for their patience as we have concluded the negotiations leading to this new contract," said Dr. Stacey L. Mayhall, the Executive Director of the AIDS Committee of North Bay and Area in a brief news release.
The two sides negotiated their first collective agreement in 2015. It was a one year contract that expired last July. The two sides have been meeting since September 2016. At the time the union said the main stumbling blocks to a deal were fairness and pay equity.
Mayhall told BayToday that it's a two-year contract, expiring July 31st next year and that's she's pleased a contract had been negotiated but declined to disclose details of the pact.
