Accident closes Ski Club Road (PHOTOS)

It appears the driver of a car lost control, veered off the road and hit a hydro pole

A traffic accident just after noon today has closed Ski Club Road at Terrace Lawn.

It appears the driver of a car lost control and veered off the road and hit a hydro pole. Witnesses tell BayToday that the driver suffered a sudden health issue and hit the ditch twice going westbound before hitting and nearly breaking the hydro pole off its foundation.

The driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It's unknown at this time if power will be cut to the area to repair the damage. However, Hydro crews confirmed the pole has both telephone and power lines connected to it.

No charges were laid.
