30th Families First rings in North Bay's centennial year tonight

'An early New Year’s countdown that is enjoyable and accessible for families with young children'

The countdown is on for families to ring in 2025 with festivities at the annual Families First New Year's Eve Celebration tonight.

The popular annual community event returns to Memorial Gardens and Thomson Park and offers a fun and family-friendly way to welcome 2025. It features a variety of activities and entertainment suitable for all ages, including live shows, interactive experiences, arts and crafts, and recreational activities.

This free family event, hosted by the Families First Committee, will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 31, from 5 until 9 p.m., featuring face painting, button making, a colouring contest, magic shows, interactive reptile displays, and skating.

Organizers say the 30th annual "celebration concludes with a fireworks display, providing an early New Year’s countdown that is enjoyable and accessible for families with young children. This free event focuses on bringing the community together in a safe and festive environment."
