Pizzaville in North Bay opened on January 16, 2025 at 300 Lakeshore Drive.

The West Ferris area of North Bay has a new neighbourhood pizza restaurant.

Angelo Contardi is the proud longtime owner of the Pizzaville chain, which he purchased back in 1979 with five locations.

It has now grown to 94 locations across the province.

The hand-stretched, tossed, and stone-baked traditionally baked pizzas at Pizzaville have been around in southern Ontario since 1963.

His new North Bay Pizzaville, which is located at 300 Lakeshore Drive at the North Bay Mall, opened its doors on Thursday.

"I supply the franchisees with the product and every store is owner-operated," explained Contardi noting they use tomatoes from Italy.

"I would say north of Newmarket, we are the favourite pizza chain in areas like Muskoka, from Port Elgin to Collingwood," he said.

Contardi even shared a slice with Nipissing MPP and fellow Italian Vic Fedeli during the Thursday grand opening.

He believes Pizzaville can become very popular, as it has in many other Ontario locations.

'We thought we opened in Huntsville during Covid, and we bought a cottage there and we are number one in Huntsville, we are number one in Bracebridge, number one in Gravenhurst so we thought why not try North Bay," said Contardi.
