To the editor:
Will axing the tax reduce the price of gas and heating oil or will the suppliers just raise the price?
There is a recent report that the majority of Canadians do not believe that the GST tax removal will impact their finances.
It is not like the carbon tax that seven out of ten Canadians get back in four direct payments over the year, but is widely tarnished as the root of all the high cost of living.
If the GST is removed, a tax paid with likely seven out of ten Canadians not receiving that rebate back, does not have an impact,
Perhaps the carbon tax removal will not either. Some may miss those four payments a year. Going after the source of the actual price might be better.
