To the editor:

In regards to the unbelievably over-populated hospital emergency visitors, I think that the system is failing due to wrong management.

Personally, there should be a system put in place for a special doctor who takes in kids with ear infections, patients with bladder infections and such.

What can be handled at least within an hour, maximum 2 hours instead of only filling chairs in the emergency department.

Patients should be treated for what their problems are.

Incoming ambulances are always a priority, also depending on the time needed for treatment.

Earaches are most times a prescription. Also bladder infections. A bandage for bleeding can be done in regular first aid. It is the system that makes it so difficult and long waiting times.

People should be more educated about health problems. I grew up with ear infections, but my parents helped me through the night to take me to a family doctor the next day. If I cut myself and need stitches, I squeeze the cut together with polysporin and a bandage. Worked very well.

Work on a system for emergencies!
