After serving as sales and management for a couple other local window and door providers Claude Paquette and Don Simoneau strongly felt that the members of the Northern Ontario communities were being somewhat cheated. Bigger markets from the south were designing and supplying better looking and better quality products then what was available up here. In their quest to bring these brand name product lines to the North, they were met with the traditional office politics. It was then they decided to venture out and start their own window and door retail operation. Different from their former employers, their mission would not be to just sell the 2nd tier quality products with 1st tier marketing. They would bring in nothing but the industry’s highest rated products and back them with expert installation and service.
And so Urban Windows & Doors was born!
Urban first opened its doors in January 2006, comprised of industry veterans from the Sudbury area. Urban stands apart from the rest of their competitors by not catering to the cash and carry crowd. That’s right folks, No “do it yourselfer’s” here! From the beginning, their objective was to ensure that when you finally decide to do or redo your windows and doors you will only have to do it once in your lifetime. You see, at Urban they know firsthand how stressful it can be when you install the window with your friend “the contractor” and then it leaks and the manufacturer says “Not covered due to improper installation”. So they decided to put an end to the madness;

All to ensure that the customer never has to worry about who is pointing what finger at the other guy.

But I tell you this, our customers tell their friends and family about us and that’s where we want our business to come from.
