About Us
The Near North Palliative Care Network is a registered charity in Northeastern Ontario, Canada, serving the area since 1987, for the last 34 years.
As the Volunteer Visiting Hospice of Nipissing/Parry Sound Districts, the organization provides one-stop services free of charge, face-to-face and online. Main Services: Palliative Care Visiting Hospice, Caregiver’s Respite and Support, Bereavement and Grief Support Sessions (individual and group), Training and Education for all aspects of ageing and end of life. During the COVID pandemic, also offering workshops, events, phone and teleconference visits to combat social isolation of seniors, especially those from vulnerable sectors.
Additionally, NNPCN runs the PCIEF Palliative Care Interdisciplinary Education Funding, providing the expenses with palliative care training and education to frontline healthcare staff in the Nipissing subregion. NNPCN is also the organizer of the local PCIEF Winter Conference for Palliative Care Interdisciplinary Education of frontline healthcare and professionals of the palliative care continuum.
